  • Rev. Dr. Soomee Kim

    Senior Pastor

    Pastor Soomee is supportive, intuitive, creative, insightful, a deep listener and truth-telling colleague; These are some of the words her colleagues describe her. She has been in an active ministry since 1993 and served in various ministry settings; local churches, a seminary, general agencies, and hospitals. In the last 8 years, Dr. Kim served the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) as she built and managed the Center for Integrative Pastoral Practice (CIPP) to provide Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), an educational program for spiritual/pastoral care professionals.


    Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Rev. Kim is bilingual-bicultural and brings life experience of challenges and joys of multi-culturalism and diversity. The academic degrees she received include B.A. in Psychology and California teaching credential from California State University, Los Angeles, and M. Div. and D. Min. from Claremont School of Theology in California. She is also a certified Spiritual Director and Pastoral Supervisor who received a Diploma from Wesley House, Cambridge, UK, on Reflective Supervision.

     

    Her hobbies are horseback riding, quilting and sewing, and doing arts and crafts. She has one husband, one son, one daughter, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law and so far, three grandchildren.

    She appreciates God who gives second chances and tries to emulate the grace and mercy she

    received from the God of Love. She looks forward to getting to know people at La Habra UMC

    and listens to their hopes and dreams as much as pains and challenges.

  • sandy cram

    Preschool Director

    Sandy Cram has worked in child care for over 35 years.  She is responsible for developing curriculum, ensuring compliance with state regulations, maintaining a safe learning environment, and communicating effectively with parents and staff to provide high-quality early childhood education for children. Under her leadership enrollment increased and we have been able to upgrade our classrooms and playground facilities. The La Habra UMC Preschool has acquired a reputation for loving and caring guidance.

  • Scarlett Brais

    Director of Music

    Scarlett Brais is a seasoned performer and gifted music educator, with over 20 years of experience working as a professional musician in Los Angeles.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from Cal State University, Long Beach, and currently leads the music program for the blind and visually impaired youth students at The Braille Institute.  Scarlett also runs and operates her own private voice and piano lesson studio, and can also be seen performing throughout southern California with her 8 piece soul-jazz band, Scarlett and The Fever. 

  • Izzy IZaguirre

    Office Manager

    Izzy Izaguirre has worked for the United Methodist Church organization for over 10 years. She became a Methodist at heart and found that her belief lead her there in 2016 when she started working for a Methodist church.  Over her career she has served in the event planning, fundraising and the non-profit arena since she graduated from college.
